How to Choose the Right Cremation Urn Size

A simple guide to help you choose the perfect size to honour your cherished loved one.

To estimate the right urn size, a common guideline is to allow approximately one cubic inch of space for every pound of the deceased’s body weight. For instance, if the person weighed 180 pounds, an urn with a capacity of 180 cubic inches or more would be appropriate. Most standard adult urns typically hold between 200 and 220 cubic inches.

Small Urn - 109 cubic inches this volume is suitable for ashes of a person weighing about 110 lbs (50kg).

Medium  Urn - 161 cubic inches this volume is suitable for ashes of a person weighing about 160 lbs (73kg)

Standard Adult Urn - 213 cubic inches this volume is suitable for ashes of a person weighing about 214 lbs (97kg)

Large Urn - 330 cubic inches this volume is suitable for ashes of a person weighing about 330 lbs (150kg)
